At long last, having virtually finished the inside of the house, I turned my attention to the front door and wall.

To the Roof
First, I built the section incorporating the front porch and my bedroom wall, then I built the front door assembly.
Next came the bay window, which I found very difficult to construct, and I have to admit isn't as straight and true as it might be.
Then I started to add brickwork to the lower part of the wall.  I made the bricks from card, sponging brown and black paint onto rust coloured card, and cutting into strips.
The upper part of the wall above the front door was pebbledashed.  I tried using aquarium stones, but found they were too big, so eventually I settled for bird grit, sifting out the largest pieces.

The grit was glued on with a variety of adhesives - I experimented with PVA glue, super glue gel, and spray adhesives.  I found the latter worked the best, but had to remember to protect areas I didn't want glued.

You might just be able to see the name "Weybourne" in gold on the glass panel above the front door.
The window frames and windows were made in a similar way to the doorframes and doors, and were glazed with 1.5 mm perspex.

The picture on the right shows the front of the house finished, with the gable end in place over the bay, ready for the roof.
